1. Who we are and what this covers

Memhold, based in New York, United States, operates Hunch. This policy covers personal information handled through the Hunch app, hunchlog.com, and communications with us. Contact us at taylor.c.graham@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.

Hunch is intended for adults in the United States. Apple and other third-party services you choose to use have their own privacy policies for information they collect independently.

2. Information used to provide Hunch

The information involved depends on how you use the Service:

  • Account information: information you provide to register, sign in, or maintain your profile, such as your email address, display name, and account identifier.
  • Hunches and participation: questions, answer choices, predictions, agreed social consequences, invitations, participants, deadlines, submitted results, agreements or disputes, and records or scores associated with your activity.
  • Invitations from others: another user may provide your email address to invite you before you create an account. That information is used to handle the invitation and associate it with your account if you join.
  • Support communications: your contact details and the content of messages, attachments, or reports you send us. Please do not send passwords or full payment-card details.
  • Subscription information: purchase confirmations, transaction identifiers, the subscribed product, and subscription status made available through Apple to provide or restore paid access. Apple handles payment details; Apple’s in-app purchase process does not provide us with your full payment-card number.
  • Technical information: internet requests to operate the website and app can involve an IP address, device or browser details, request times, and diagnostic or security logs. These support delivery, troubleshooting, and protection of the Service.

The website’s interactive examples run locally in your browser. Entering a demo answer does not create a real hunch or send an invitation.

3. How information is used

  • Provide accounts, invitations, hunches, results, and participation records.
  • Confirm subscription access and help with purchase or account issues.
  • Respond to questions, reports, and privacy requests.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the Service, prevent abuse, and protect accounts.
  • Send necessary service notices and meet legal obligations.

Hunch does not run advertisements or share personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. When information is shared

With other participants. Hunch is a social service. Your identity as a participant and the content, answers, results, and records you share are visible to the participants involved as the relevant features allow. Other users may take screenshots or share copies outside Hunch. Do not include information you would not want those people to receive.

With service providers. Providers supporting functions such as hosting, data storage, account access, communications, and technical support may process information needed to perform those services for us. This is operational sharing, not advertising-related sharing.

With Apple. Apple processes subscriptions and provides purchase information needed to manage access. Apple’s handling of information through the App Store is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, or establish or defend legal claims.

For a business transition or at your direction. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law and this policy. We may also share information when you ask us to or separately consent.

5. Browser storage and links

The website uses browser local storage to remember your light or dark appearance preference. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser; doing so resets the preference. The website’s demo selections are temporary browser state.

The website does not include advertising trackers. Links to Apple or other external sites take you to services with their own information-handling practices. This policy does not control those services.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including providing your account and hunch history, resolving disputes, protecting the Service, and meeting legal requirements. The appropriate period depends on the type of information, whether your account is active, an outstanding support or security issue, and applicable legal obligations. Hunch’s references to keeping “receipts” do not promise indefinite retention.

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing taylor.c.graham@gmail.com. We may need to verify that the request is yours. We will process it in accordance with applicable law and explain any information we must retain and the reason for doing so.

Deletion may not immediately remove information from backup copies, which may persist until replaced or deleted through the backup lifecycle. Information required for legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes may be retained for those limited purposes. Deletion cannot remove copies other participants independently saved or shared.

Account deletion does not automatically cancel billing through Apple. Manage your subscription separately using Apple’s subscription settings.

7. Your privacy choices and rights

Contact taylor.c.graham@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to ask about an invitation sent to your email address. Include the email associated with your account or invitation and describe your request. Do not send sensitive identification documents unless we explain why they are needed.

Depending on where you live and whether the relevant law applies to Memhold, you may also have rights to a portable copy of your information, to restrict certain processing, to use an authorized agent, or to appeal a denied request. We will verify and respond to requests as required by applicable law. If we deny a request, you can ask for reconsideration by replying with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Because Hunch does not use personal information for targeted advertising, there is no targeted-advertising setting to enable. You can separately manage browser storage and any permissions granted to the app through your browser or device settings.

8. Security and processing locations

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in information private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Memhold operates from the United States. The location of your information depends on the systems and providers used to deliver the Service; this policy does not promise that all information is stored exclusively in the United States.

9. Children and teenagers

Hunch is intended for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child or another person under 18 has provided personal information or created an account, contact taylor.c.graham@gmail.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps, including account closure and deletion as required by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post updates here and change the date above. If an update materially changes how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required by law.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Memhold, New York, United States, at taylor.c.graham@gmail.com. You can also read our Terms of Service.
